Hand Drawn Animation

The animation is heavily inspired by William Kentridge's artworks. In his work, Kentridge erases and alters a single, stable drawing while recording the changes with stop-motion camera work, and what makes this technique so relevant to this opera is not only the sketchy style we can create to mimic children’s hand drawings but also the marks that left behind from erased drawing reminds me the pebbles trials Hansel left behind in the forest. This animation is made from more than 1300 photos and taken about 60hrs.
